A happy new year to all readers and Corgi enthusiasts everywhere, and let’s hope for good luck in everyone’s breeding plans during 2020. It would be great to see more new exhibitors and more people interested in breeding responsibly and more cheerful camaraderie round the ringsides would be wonderful too.
Sorry to hear of a couple of households for whom the holiday season wasn’t been altogether joyful. Sadly Teresa and Pat Maddox have lost Salvenik Super Duper Star at the age of seven. ‘Dave’ was by Ch/Am Ch Rosewood Set Sail to Salvenik ex Salvenik Star Performer, from the repeat mating of that which produced Chs Set To Star and Swing On A Star.. He won a CC and several reserves.
Then Chris and Elizabeth Cuthbert have said goodbye to Salvenik Star Magic with Triella at not quite three years. ‘Evie’ was by Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik ex Salvenik Star Drop and had done quite a bit of winning.
Both sets of owners are heartbroken and we send our sympathy.
Here’s a look at the reserve CC winners of 2019, starting with the males who also won CCs during the year, and whose details I gave last week.
Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik won four RCCs, and Ch Penliath Spanner In The Worx three.
Ch/Rus/Ukr Ch Ermyn Snow Knight, Ch Oregonian Snow Tiger,
Stadwen Lancelot, Rus/Lux/Swiss Ch Aethwy Piano Man and Oye-Dragoon-Willow des Contamines at Woodhenge all won two.
Single RCCs went to Ir Ch Towernaglen Buster Moon at Craigycor, Ir Ch Craigycor Viva Las Vegas and Twinan Life’s A Blast.
Other males to win RCCs were: four to the bobtail tri Woodhenge Star Agent for Pendrell (owned by Elaine and Alan Barlow, bred by Barry and Sue Coulson by Ch Pemcader Thunderball ex Woodhenge Moon Maiden); two to the tri Meitza Erik The King (one previous CC, owner Kim Warner, bred by Fiona Miller and Mike Haslam by Thunderball ex Meitza Goldust).
One each to Zydahayes Sir Bruce (owned and bred by Lynne Creech by Ch Corrogs Young Whistler ex Zydahayes Jitterbug), the tri Int/Cro/Slo Ch Wallfugh Ink To Nireno Picture (one previous CC, owned and bred by Victoria Valsecchi from Italy by Int/It/Slo Ch Beaudy ex Nireno Charme Bracelet), Oregonian Snow Leopard (owned and bred by Diana King and Sarah Taylor, litter brother to Tiger by Ch Nireno Luke Skywalker ex Oregonian Snow Queen) and the tri Ceranda Surf’s Up (a first top award for David Jones, bred by Cerys Davies by Ch/Rus/Ukr Ch Ermyn Snow Knight ex Craigycor Lovely Maud with Ceranda).

Single RCCs to Coventry Foreign Affair with Penliath (owned by Chris and Nicki Blance, Bill Shelton and Steve Leyerly, bred by them in the US by Am Ch Coventry Beach Boy ex Ch Penliath Done N’Dusted), the tri Ch Corland Solitaire (owned and bred by Karen Newton by Nebriowa Skidaddle ex Pemcader Picture Puzzle), Salvenik Silk Rose for Ellhar (one previous CC, owned by End Ellwood, bred by Teresa Maddox by Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik ex Bertley Autumnal Rose for Salvenik), the tri Ermyn Fly By Night (two previous CCs, owned and bred by Mary Davies by Rus Ch Pemvale Moonlight Flyer over Ermyn ex Ch Vuedor Black Pearl at Ermyn) and Stadwen Rosina (owned and bred by Alan and Wendy Rees, litter sister to Chs Tinkerbell and Figaro by Ch Stadwen Spartakus ex Stadwen Prima Donna).
At Livingston open show Kay Hogg’s Daleabbey’s Anything Goes Keltybrae was PG4 as well as BOB under Heather Turner. Please let me know of any group successes at general and group open shows, and may I thank all those breed club secretaries and others who have let me know their results during the year.
