Birmingham National and more

Tan Nagrecha (Chandlimore St Bernards etc) was awarding CCs at Birmingham National and it was another landmark for Kevin Dover and Lars Saether’s Ch Pemcader Thunderball when he took his CC total to 50. John Ritchie shortlisted him in the group.

BCC was a sixth for Barry and Sue Coulson’s Ch Woodhenge Star Xtravaganza, with another BP for Lorraine Weedall and Nicola Bogue’s Bronabay Illuminations.

Joy Whitehead’s Tudoroyal Christmas Fun was BV – I gave the breeding of all these after their successes at the League show last week so forgive me if I’m lazy this time.

RDCC was Diana King and Sarah Taylor’s Ch Oregonian Snow Tiger (Ch Nireno Luke Skywalker ex Oregonian Snow Queen) and RBCC Mary Davies’ dual CC-winning tri Ermyn Fly By Night (Rus Ch Pemvale Midnight Flyer over Ermyn ex Ch Vuedor Black Pearl of Ermyn).

Joy was second in her adult handling class under Frank Whyte. Snow Tiger was fifth in the champion stakes judged by Tom Johnston, who gave Balletcor third in the breeders’ competition.

A message from David Peter Knights: “Newmarket CS open show is on Sunday June 10 at Littleport Leisure Centre, entries close online on Sunday. Our judge is breed specialist Sammi Aynscough who is coming all the way from Scotland and is doing both Corgi breeds. We have four classes including a puppy class for both breeds. Breed specialist Ros Gardiner is judging the pastoral group.

“I know many people leave their entries until last minute but I currently have no Cardigan entries and only two Pems, so if you are able to support or have puppies bred by you in the area please can you spread the word. We managed to get 18 Cardigans at our show last year and would love to achieve that kind of entry again. Online entries are on Fossedata.”

A reminder that I would appreciate specialty results from around the world – BOB and BOS in any case, perhaps more detail if it’s a parent club ‘national’. I know there have been specialties in Russia and Sweden recently so would be grateful for news from these and any others. From the UK I’m always pleased to hear of open show group placings. I can’t promise always to pick up news from Facebook posts so a PM would be the best way.
